Analysts Weigh In On Toyota

  • October 21, 2010
Commenting on Toyota's recall, Edmunds.com senior analyst Jessica Caldwell notes that the automaker is still trying to recover brand equity and that 13.8% of Edmunds.com site visitors research Toyotas now versus 16.1% in the same period last year.

Another Edmunds analyst, Panee Segal, said in a statement that at the height of the recalls at Toyota, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration complaint database received nearly 7,900 submissions in a month -- "more than five times its usual volume."

"All the media activity raised drivers' consciousness of problems and of their ability to report problems when they occur. All automakers have received an increased number of complaints for all types of problems with their cars."

"Weigh in"? All they offered was their single data byte and no additional supporting or contradicting information or data. Tell me about sales and relate your data byte to that...or some other perception data. Otherwise don't waste my time.
