Taking A Break
It's been nearly five years since I first contributed to the weekly OnlineSpin.
It's been rewarding in many ways.
First, I've had a savvy audience with which to share my observations and analysis about online marketing. I don't seek attention, but I've valued the connections. I've used this column as a vehicle to explore completely new topics that I wanted or needed to get smart in. I've used this venue to share my own adventures in innovative startups like BuzzMetrics (NM Incite) and now Clickable.
I've shared professional challenges that I believed were widely relevant in order to prompt perspective from others. I've even used this venue to explore how digital interactivity shapes personal life, like having and raising kids, maintaining relationships and coping with the death of loved ones. I've shared consequent learning and best practices so others could benefit.
Most important, I've received a lot of great feedback and made many new friends and colleagues.
But after 230 columns, I've decided to take a break. I have a lot of commitments, both professionally and personally, and I need to focus on fewer things for a while. I also need to break routine, prioritize and reenergize.
Will I return? I plan to.
Until then, I'd like to thank you for your kind attention and valuable perspective over the years.

Come back soon, Max. We're going to leave your seat warm for you.
Max,
You deserve a break! Looking forward to seeing the great stuff you produce with recharged batteries.
Cheers,
David
Change is good, Max. Have a great time with the extra time. You're a good example to us all! (But I do hope you come back.)
Facebook sharing needs an "empathize" button. Couldn't bring myself to "Like" this.
Big fan of changing the norm to keep the creative juices flowing. Enjoy the change!
Over here, in Mexico, its starting the "Guadalupe Reyes" season, which stands for almost one entire month. During these days there is, in the air, a sensation of "I am on vacation" or "have a lot of time to spend with family, friends, and myself!".
So, before you close the door, I invite you to enjoy this season and, mainly, thank you for sharing your thoughts, ideas and challenging our own with out-of-the-box perspectives.
Hope you do as MacArthur, although you didn't close your article with the classic "I will return!". Here we will be waiting.
The best to you each morning.....No doubt all of your readers will be ready for your return.
I've enjoyed your commentaries and look forward to hear your new ventures. Till then, enjoy!
