Sony has launched its cloud-based music subscription service, Music Unlimited, powered by Qriocity, in the U.S.

The service, which has been available in European markets since late last year, allows users to play music through a wide variety of Internet-connected Sony devices, including televisions, Blu-Ray disc players, and videogame consoles.

"As we expand 'Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity' around the globe, it signifies a paradigm shift which redefines the existing music listening experience by revolutionizing music access, discovery, integration and personalization," said Kazuo Hirai, President of Networked Products & Services Group, Sony Corporation, in a statement.

The subscription service will start with two levels: Basic, costing $3.99 a month, and Premium, costing $9.99 a month.
