As The Board Spins

First off, this is Joe Mandese filling in on this week's Online Spin Board, not Joe Marchese, who announced last week that he was taking a break after four years of Online Spinning. That was the first shoe to drop, and I wouldn't be surprised if Marchese has another shoe plopping down quite soon. As they say in the (spoiler alert) TV business, stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Marchese's Spin shoe is a pretty big one to fill, so I'd like to take the opportunity of this week's post to let you know that a great Online Spinmeister and a long-time friend of MediaPost's has agreed to fill it, at least for the time being.

Beginning next week, Jason Heller, a pioneering digital agency executive, is going to take a spin. Heller, who most recently was at the Laredo Group, co-founded one of Madison Avenue's first pure-play digital media shops, which he sold to Horizon Media.

Look for the official story on Heller's next move to come out soon, but (second spoiler alert) it's going to involve a new company called Agiliti. And if you know anything about Heller, it's sure to be an agile one. Heller is a true Renaissance guy, who early in his professional life was a hip-hop music producer, and more recently built, then sold, a successful publishing business around his other big passion, underwater photography. With that in mind, I hope you'll welcome Heller as he takes his next big plunge, starting next week.

Yes, pray for Japan folks - They need all of us now.

I can’t stop crying every day every time that I see the pictures video and all the devastating news my heart pours since. Since day one that I saw the water washing off people, cars, boats and houses and the families that lost their love ones and everything that they worked so hard for. It is the sadness and hurtful thing to watch on TV. But, we have to in order to know what is happening and learning how to support our brothers and sister in Japan that needs us now.
I understand what the people are going through since I have been there with my family in Haiti. I am still going trough it, lost 14 family members and more with the Cholera diseases that hit my families over and over again since medication was not available to them on time. Most of the people seem to forget after a few months but, people like I and others that have been there, will NEVER FORGET!!!
It really does take someone that has been there to understand the real crisis. I know, it hurts every day, every hour especially when we are not near our love ones calling for help and we can’t see them and have no way to support anymore since the crisis is not just a one day damage; it is a life long humanitarian crisis and devastation to all Haitian whether you lost family or not.
Not only the earthquake tsunami hit our Japan brothers and sisters, the forthcoming nuclear meltdown – Pray everyone, we are in midst of one of the biggest disasters of our histories. My prayers are with the Japan families and will continue to share their tears with them until we can figure out the best way to help the victims.

    God bless,

    Nicole Sammarco
