Sears says it is predicting a 5.2% fall in same-store sales for the first quarter, as well as a 1.6% dip at its Kmart unit, for a total decline of 3.6%. Sears Canada is expected to report a 9.2%
tumble. The company attributed the declines to weak performance in appliances, apparel and consumer electronics, and says that home, sporting goods, jewelry and footwear all showed growth in the
period.
