In addition to Mexico (chosen by 15%), Hawaii (12%), and Florida (8%), lovebirds also headed to Jamaica (7%). The Bahamas, St. Lucia, Italy and California each drew 5% of the overall market. (About 30% stay within the continental U.S.)
The survey also found that while couples might have made other budget concessions due to the economy, they weren't cutting back on the honeymoon, with 60% saying they didn't trim their budget, and one in four couples spending more than they originally planned. About 21% spent more than $6,000.
