Denny’s is launching a “Taste of the Holidays” campaign with multiple tie-ins with “Arthur Christmas,” an Aardman/Sony Pictures Animation 3D family movie debuting on Nov. 23.

This Sony movie partnership is the first in six years for Denny’s. The last one was with “Madagascar,” in 2005.

Starting Nov. 7, the restaurant chain is offering a “Taste of Holidays” limited-time menu that includes children’s items such as Arthur’s Christmas Cookie Pancakes and Arthur’s Milk and Cookies Shake.

Banner ads for the Denny’s kids menu are running on the movie’s site.

In addition to in-store marketing tie-ins, Denny’s will offer a variety of movie-themed online activities.

One, Denny’s Letters to Arthur, will launch on the movie’s site (ArthurChristmas.com) next week. Kids who write to the movie’s hero, Arthur -- Santa’s youngest son -- get assurances that Arthur will pass their Christmas present request onto Santa, plus a coupon for a free kid’s meal at Denny’s.

Facebook activities will include creating holiday e-cards and custom family portraits, and a viral Yule log game (the more logs added to the fire, the better the prize).

Denny’s will also offer a 24-hour toy drive in to aid Toys for Tots.
