Time Warner has confirmed that Digitas' Laura Lang has been named CEO of Time Inc., effective in January.

Lang will assume the role of leading Time Inc. from an interim management committee composed of Howard Averill, Maurice Edelson, and John Huey, which has been in place since long-time magazine executive Jack Griffin was ousted from the role 10 months ago.

OMMA magazine recently named Digitas its "Agency of the Year."

Lang is the second top Publicis digital executive to leave Publicis in the past couple of years, following her former boss, David Kenny, who left to join Akamai. Kenny also recently stepped down from Akamai and is a member of the Yahoo board.
