Apple Wins Smartphone Technology Protection Ruling

The U.S. government has ruled that some features found in smartphones are protected by an Apple patent, which could force Google's Android phones to change the way they work.
That's according to a story in today's New York Times, which reports the ruling is one of the most closely watched patent battles and reflects the strong competition among the major players in the mobile industry.
