Mercedes-Benz Taps Cargo For Web

  • January 4, 2012

Mercedes-Benz Canada has tapped Greenville, S.C.-based Cargo to build and maintain a  new Web site with mobile versions for its Mercedes-Benz Vans division. Mercedes-Benz Vans officials say the Web overhaul was awarded to Cargo because of the work the agency currently produces as agency of record for Daimler Vans USA, a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz USA.

The scope of the digital assignment includes all front-end design, back-end development and systems integration of the Mercedes-Benz Vans Web and mobile sites and maintaining the sites and hosting at Cargo’s Greenville data center, per the agency. The Web site will have English and French Canadian versions and will be optimized for mobile devices using Apple OS, Android and BlackBerry platforms.

Cargo is also charged with producing and launching a public-facing configurator that allows site visitors to custom build the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van of their choice. Cargo has been the agency of record for Daimler Vans USA for nearly two years, marketing the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter vans, the agency says.
