SunTrust Asks Consumers To Share Financial Goals

Facebook-Livesolid

SunTrust is kicking off a contest with prizes including Visa gift cards, with the aim of motivating consumers to share their financial goals.

The Atlanta-based company is launching the Sold Resolutions contest -- which includes a forum for consumers to share their top financial resolution -- on Facebook.

Consumers who share how they resolve to "live solid" financially in 2012 will be registered in a drawing for one of four $100 SunTrust Visa gift cards. In addition, SunTrust will select one grand prize winner to receive a $5,000 package: a $2,500 SunTrust Visa gift card to use now, a $2,500 SunTrust Bank certificate of deposit (CD) to save for later, and a consultation with a SunTrust financial advisor.

The aim of the contest is to prompt consumers to consider what is holding them back and what they have resolved to change. “What financial baggage do you have and how do you resolve to cut it loose? What luxuries will you forego in 2012 to put more money in your savings account?” asks the company on its Facebook page.

The comments could help motivate themselves and others as they read through previously submitted resolutions to find out what is important to other SunTrust clients in the coming year.

Submissions will be accepted until January 31 at 11:59 p.m. (EST). Weekly winners will be announced each Monday during the contest. The winner of the grand prize will be notified Feb. 1.

The company is promoting the contest on its Web page, Facebook and Twitter.
