Subaru of America and Aha by Harman, an interactive Web platform for drivers, have inked a partnership that puts Aha into Subaru vehicles. The platform lets drivers interact with web-based content through the radio, per the companies, who made the announcement at CES in Las Vegas.
Aha is powering the Web-connected "fourth band" of radio, alongside AM, FM, and satellite radio. Subaru owners will be able to tune in Web-based content like on-demand music from MOG and Rhapsody; Internet radio from SHOUTcast, CBS RADIO, and Slacker; live news; the latest information, news and entertainment podcasts from NPR and others.
The companies say the Aha technology also gives drivers access to such content as audio books; personalized traffic reports; Facebook and Twitter newsfeeds; and personalized restaurant recommendations from Yelp; and much more.
