Meredith Taps Marathon Ventures To Rep 'Better'
The Meredith branded-entertainment arm that produces “The Better Show” has tapped Marathon Ventures to serve as its national rep firm for the syndicated
lifestyle show. The hour-long show looks to offer programming emanating from Meredith magazine brands, such as Better Homes and Gardens and Family Circle.
Marathon replaces Worldlink in the role formerly taken by Meredith Video Studios. The show, which would enter its sixth season this fall, targets women 18-to-54 and is syndicated in 150 markets.
Naming rights sponsorships are available for the anchor desk and green room and other in-program placements. There are no ads on the show’s Web site, which would seem to be an opportunity.
Meredith Video Solutions creates custom content in addition to the show and on multiple platforms and has worked with clients such as Walmart, Kraft and Maybelline.
Marathon has also worked with Bounce TV, the new network targeting African-Americans, as well as on multicultural sales for TBS, NBA TV and other Turner properties.
Meredith has been trying to diversify its businesses beyond its core magazines and collection of local TV stations by moving into marketing services with the video unit. It is also trying to build database marketing and other services.
The video solutions unit has also produced a ParentsTV video-on-demand property that was available in 15 million homes.
