Apple and AT&T are using some high powered talent to promote the latest iPhone (and Siri).

Actors Zoey Deschanel and Samuel L. Jackson are appearing in two new commercials using the iPhone’s voice control function. Deschanel (star of the Fox show “The New Girl”) checks the weather when the hears rain on the roof, postpones cleaning her house and orders take out tomato soup. Jackson, improbably, cooks a meal for “date night” using his iPhone to answer questions such as, “How many ounces in a cup?”

Siri, for her part, responds politely and effectively to every request.
