California Walnuts Issues Facebook Health Challenge
California Walnuts is running a Facebook contest to promote walnuts' health benefits and its new "Natural Defenders of the Human Body" campaign theme.
Consumers are being encouraged to submit, on the California Walnuts Facebook page, their ideas for the methods that they use to "defend their bodies" in natural ways.
Users of the page can view and vote on the entries (entrants are being encouraged to get their friends to vote for them).
The entrant whose idea gets the most votes will win a health club membership valued at $1,200, and five runners-up will receive a five-pound bag of California Walnuts.
The California walnut industry comprises more than 4,600 growers and 70 handlers, repsented by the California Walnut Board and the California Walnut Commission.
