Catalina Buys M-Commerce Solution Modiv Media

In-Store and digital shopper markting company Catalina has acquired the mobile commerce firm Modiv Media. The decade-old Modiv marketing has been building a mobile commerce platform that integrates point-of-sale with loyalty and CRM systems. The company has a white-label solution for retailers to create their own m-commerce apps that can include product scanning, targeted savings offers and couponing as well as self-checkout.  

In a statement, Catalina CEO Jamie Egasti says: "The acquisition will allow Catalina to drive greater consumer engagement before and during the buying experience for brands, and deliver increased revenue and shopper loyalty for large-scale retailers." Catalina claims an in-store network that reaches 50,000 food, drug and mass merchants worldwide and 26,000 in the U.S. Catalina also operates CouponNetwork.com.
