Kiip Adds Digital Wallet

Mobile games ad network Kiip has introduced its own digital wallet allowing people to store and redeem rewards earned through game play. Previously, all users redeemed rewards one by one via email. The new Kiip App will allow users to store rewards in a single location as well as provide a catalog of all 400 games and apps through which the company provides sponsored prizes and product discounts.

The company’s network includes advertising from 40 major brands including 1-800-Flowers.com, American Apparel, Disney, Verizon Wireless and PepsiCo. Users are presented with rewards when they reach individual "achievement levels," such as moving on to a higher level of play or completing a difficult puzzle.

"The Kiip app is mobile, it's advertising and it's a step forward for both those important tools and that's why we're a part of it,” said Ryan Holiday, director of marketing for American Apparel, in a statement Tuesday.

Kiip, which says it gives out an average of 5 rewards a second and reaches over 40 million consumers reach month in the U.S. alone, closed $11 million in second-round venture funding. The service launched last year with 10 games and a handful of brands on board.
