creativity: Muppets + Bandaids

The new Muppets-themed Bandaids are way, way better than the Bandaids I had a kid: basically you put on the Bandaids (which have visuals of various Muppets printed on the outside), scan them with a smartphone, and -- thanks to the JWT ad campaign described by Eric Weisberg at OMMA Display -- the Muppet in question appears on the phone, through the magic of augmented reality, to entertain the kid and hopefully distract them to stop crying, wailing, etc. It's gamified so the kids can move the phone around and make the Muppets react. It won a Gold Lion in the Cannes mobile category (the first time that prize has been awarded).  It's taken for granted, of course, that 4-year-olds can use smartphones, no problem.
