Intel Offers Branded 'Angry Birds'
Angry Birds now has Intel inside, and everywhere else. Intel Corp. has teamed with Rovio to launched an Intel-branded version of its iconic Angry Birds game for Facebook. While the Angry Birds characters remain the same, the branded edition features an Intel-blue circuit board background, Intel Core chips and mini-circuit boards throughout.
The new game, accessed through Intel's Facebook page on the desktop, also allows fans to get more information about Intel-powered Ultrabook devices. To help promote the release, Intel is running ads with mobile ad network Jumptap within the original versions of Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space.
Jumptap will deliver 50 million impressions for the campaign, which highlights Ultrabooks and drive people to Intel's Facebook page to play its version of Angry Birds.
“With entertainment as the foundation of our advertising activities we feel that a multi-platform integration with Rovio and Angry Birds, including the first fully branded Facebook activation, is an excellent way to expose this new audience to Intel and the Ultrabook in a fun and engaging manner,” said David Veneski, Intel's U.S. media director, in a statement.
The companies said the branded Angry Birds release is the first of more joint initiatives among Rovio, Intel and Jumptap to come before year's end.
