Yahoo Names New HR Head

In its latest key appointment under new CEO Marissa Mayer, Yahoo today named Jacqueline Reses as executive vice president of people and development. In that role, she will be responsible for leading human resources and talent acquisition as well as corporate and business development globally.

Prior to joining Yahoo, Reses led the U.S. media group at Apax Partners, building a team of investment professionals focused on media and technology businesses. She also worked extensively on the firm's recruiting and training initiatives. Previously, Reses spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, where she also was involved in mentoring and training in addition to working on key corporate transactions.

At Yahoo, she will report directly to Mayer. She succeeds David Windley, who left the company as HR head shortly after Mayer's appointment in July, according to AllThingsD. Reses hiring follows on the heels of Yahoo naming Kathy Savitt, formerly CEO of social commerce site Lockerz, as its new chief marketing officer. Earlier this month, Ron Bell was promoted to general counsel at the company.
