Facebook Surpasses 1 Billion Active Users
In a Facebook post this morning, Thursday Oct. 4, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg reported that his legendary social network passed a major milestone. “This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month,” he wrote. “If you are reading this: thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you,” he says. Vowing to work to improve the serve, he envisioned including someday “the rest of the world too.”
Perhaps demonstrating the massive scale Facebook has achieved, Zuckerberg’s post received nearly 300,000 “likes” within an hour of its posting early this morning.
