Vibrant Media has appointed three new board members who join directors Craig Gooding, Wim Obbens, Ralph Terkowitz, and the company’s CEO, Cella Irvine; and Board Observers Deric Emry and Okko Filius.

One of the three is Cathie Black, who might be remembered for her brief stint as NYC Schools Chancellor. She has also been advisor, board member, investor and mentor to several start-ups as well as past president and chairman of Hearst Magazines. Black has also served as president and publisher of USA Today.

Chris Ahearn is a venture partner at FirstMark Capital and chairman of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. He previously served as President of Reuters Media, a unit of Thomson Reuters, in addition to sitting on the company’s executive and operating committee for its Markets unit. Prior to joining Reuters, Ahearn was an investment banker with J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Mark Zagorski is CEO of global digital data company eXelate, where he launched the first data exchange. Before that he was CMO and Corporate EVP of MediaSpan.
