Automakers Battle For Green
The organizers and judges of the Green Car of the Year Award, which has been given out for eight years in conjunction with the Los Angeles Auto Show, have named finalists. Two are exclusively sold as hybrids, starting with the newest member of the Toyota Prius “family,” the compact Prius C. The Ford C-Max has both a conventional gas-electric drivetrain and a more advanced plug-in hybrid option. Also in the running for the award are the new Ford Fusion, which will also have a hybrid variant, a plug-in and a new EcoBoost alternative. Mazda is finalist for the new CX-5 SkyActiv package.
