Women's Group On LinkedIn Draws 70,000

LinkedIn today released initial results from a Citi-sponsored women’s forum launched on the professional networking site in April. The Connect: Professional Women’s Network offers curated content and moderated discussions aimed at helping women enhance networking skills and workplace best practices.

In its first six months, LinkedIn said Connect has attracted 70,000 members and has twice the engagement of any other LinkedIn group. Almost half return weekly and 8 in 10 say they’re likely to revisit.

In a blog post today, Linda Descano, managing director and head of digital partnerships, content and social, North America at Citi, said she was pleased with the growth of the Connected group. “We’re also delighted with the trajectory we are seeing in terms of engagement and reach – we have the highest number of discussion threads, comments, likes and shares of any group on LinkedIn and our members are 2.5 times more engaged than the average LinkedIn group member,” she said.

Connected features content from Women & Co., Citi’s personal finance site for women, as well as the financial service’s giant’s branding throughout.
