Just An Online Minute... Last night. Carmine's. New York City.

I'm still full.

Some 30 members of The One Hundred Club gathered at the legendary Italian joint to chow down on pasta and prosciutto, chug red wine, and catch up on interactive industry developments. They renewed existing friendships and met some new folks.

I was invited by Nick Friese, MediaPost's vice president of marketing and sales, who organized the event and has devoted a chunk of his time to keeping the OHC, as it's known, vibrant and engaging. The online conversations among this group apparently feature lively give and takes, and some occasional jabs.

What struck me the most last night, as an observer, was just how many of these folks used to work together or at least do business with one another, at one point in their careers. Bill McCloskey, president and CEO of Emerging Interest and author of MediaPost's E-mail Insider, seemed to know everyone. I learned an interesting piece of trivia-Bill married Allie Savarino, senior vice president of marketing at Unicast, and her husband Joe.

Among the attendees last night: Brian Quinn of CBSMarketWatch, Nick Johnson of Revenue Science, Dave Morgan from Tacoda, Roni Jenkins from J. Walter Thompson, Tim and Wendy McHale of MadAveCon, Seth Perkovich of Klipmart, Rick Bruner of Executive Summary, Joe Jaffe of jaffe, and Skip Graham of Giant Head.

Everyone seemed to have a great time.

Speaking of which, next Thursday night, 212NYC, the networking and professional organization for online media folks, is set to cruise around the Hudson. Well, cruise in a boat on the Hudson that is! Space is filling up, and you have to register. For more information, click here.
