Globe, WBZ-TV Collaborate

This week, the Boston Globe and CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV announced a collaboration that will showcase exclusive news, video, and weather on TV, in print, and on the web, according to a release.

“This collaboration will further allow the Boston Globe and WBZ-TV News to deliver the most comprehensive news and information across platforms to better serve consumers when, where, and how they want content,” said Mark Lund, president and general manager of CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV and myTV38 (WSBK-TV) in a statement.

“We’re excited to join forces with WBZ-TV, and to tap the power of our combined resources and knowledge,” Caleb Solomon, the Globe’s managing editor, said in a statement. “The relationship with WBZ-TV is one more way for the Globe to extend its reach in Greater Boston, with a news organization that values quality journalism,” Solomon said.

In conjunction with the collaboration, WBZ-TV’s team of meteorologists began video forecasts on the home page of Boston.com, which will receive five updates a day. “Running WBZ’s AccuWeather forecasts with the station’s top-flight meteorologists on Boston.com will be a tremendous benefit for our audience,” Solomon said in a statement.
