ABC's "Oscars": An early sellout

Like that of the Super Bowl, another big event, ABC's "85th Annual Academy Awards", has been a quick sell out.
During Walt Disney Co. first quarter fiscal earnings call, Jay Rasulo, senior executive vp and chief financial officer of Walt Disney, said the company has been sold out of TV advertising inventory for over a month an a half -- since Christmas.
Walt Disney said this was the fastest moving Oscar market in "more than a decade."
Media buyers and other reports have been guessing ABC's average sales price for a 30-second commercial in the broadcast is now at $1.8 million -- up from $1.7 million a year ago.
