Philly's 'With Love' Campaign Woos Betrothed

  • February 6, 2013

The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation's (GPTMC) "With Love, Philadelphia XOXO" campaign this week ran a new effort: a personalized proposal love letter on a Philadelphia Trolley Works trolley. It dangles a $5,000 Hearts on Fire Acclaim engagement ring from Bernie Robbins Jewelers; an engagement-day photo shoot and an overnight stay at the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia. Those interested in proposing on Valentine’s Day can submit their Philly-centric love story and photo at visitphilly.com/propose.

The interested party (either potential bride or groom) has to enter a description of Philadelphia’s role in the couple’s love story, and both parties have to be available in person for the public proposal on Feb. 14 and be willing to partake in an engagement-day photo shoot. They submit an image of the couple for publicity purposes. The organization will work with the winner to create a personalized love letter in the "With Love" campaign style and to develop a ruse to surprise the significant other.

The tourism corporation and the winner plan a special engagement day on February 14 that features the personalized With Love letter on a Philadelphia Trolley Works trolley. The effort includes an additional promotion: an Instagram photo contest and partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers For those not in the marriage track, The Philadelphia 76ers and GPTMC (aka “Visit Philly”) have launched a photo contest inviting fans to take photos at Philadelphia hotspots to win tickets to Sixers home games and hotel packages. To enter, fans must visit their favorite Philadelphia attractions sporting their Sixers gear, take a photo of themselves with their mobile phone or camera, and submit the photo via Instagram by tagging it with “#xoxo76ers” or online at SIXERS.COM/xoxo76ers. There are no limits to the number of entries fans can submit.
