Mueller Upped To President IPG's NSA Media, Wahlstrom
Interpublic Group’s Orion Holdings has promoted Steve Mueller to president of both NSA Media, the newspaper planning and buying specialist, and
Wahlstrom the directory services agency.
The appointment follows a reorganization late last year that moved the two firms to the Orion Holdings group. The group’s flagship
business is corporate trading operation Orion Trading. Orion Holdings is part of IPG Mediabrands.
The company said that Debbie Lance would continue in her managing director role at
Wahlstrom, reporting to Mueller.
Brian McMahon, CEO of Orion Holdings, stated that Mueller is a “proven industry veteran who has expertise, relationships and a clear
understanding of how the newspaper business and listings services need to evolve in order to remain relevant to the future generation of consumers. ”
In his new role Mueller will report
to McMahon.
Mueller, a 20-year IPG veteran, was previously Chief Delivery Officer at IPG’s hyper-local unit Geomentum. There, he was responsible for making sure clients received the
media services and marketing insights necessary to focus on shoppers.
Prior to joining Geomentum in 2011, Mueller was COO at NSA Media, a post he held for about a year after joining the
outfit in 2008. Earlier, he was CEO of IPG’s Outdoor Services Inc., the out-of-home agency now known as Outdoor Advertising Group. OAG also shifted to Orion Holdings as part of last year’s
reorganization.
“Our clients are seeking out new and innovative ways to reach consumers,” Mueller stated. “As media usage habits continue to evolve, we will be at the
forefront of this evolution.”
