Fandango Premieres 'Weekend Ticket'

Fandango, the Website where movie-goers buy advance tickets, has premiered “Weekend Ticket,” its first “original digital video series” hosted by its “chief correspondent” Dave Karger. The first episode is a little more than three minutes long.

In the premiere, Karger shows clips and speaks briefly with Steve Carell, star of“ The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” a comedy about competing magicians (Carell and Jim Carrey)  and also shows clips from “The Call,” a thriller starring Halle Berry. Carell jokes that he’s concerned viewers may be confused by the two movies because both are “so, so similar in tone.” (They are, of course, not even remotely similar.)

“Weekend Ticket” also features “Fanticipation,” a movie buzz indicator that measures fan excitement based on advance sales, traffic and social media.

Fandango also produces “The Frontrunners,” a seasonal show covering the movie awards season, but “Weekend Ticket” is its first ongoing weekly series.

Fandango's movie ticketing app has 31 million downloads, available on a vaiety of devices and platforms. Fandango claims 41 million online and mobile visitors per month.
