SiriusXM Debuts 'Serious Ladies,' 'Tom Petty' Channels

Tom-Petty--the-Heartbreakers-ASiriusXM is rocking out with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The network is kicking off the rock ’n’ roll Hall of Famer’s summer tour by launching two channels: "Tom Petty Radio," a limited-run channel tied to the tour, and a separate channel dedicated solely to Tom Petty SiriusXM music show,Tom Petty 's Buried Treasure.”

"Tom Petty Radio" debuts May 17 at 6:00 pm, via satellite on Channel 111. It can also be heard on the SiriusXM Internet Radio App and online at siriusxm.com.

"Tom Petty Radio" showcases the music of Petty's career, including his work with The Heartbreakers and his solo efforts as well as The Traveling Wilburys and his first band, Mudcrutch.

Petty joins Sirius’ roster of music legends: Bruce Springsteen's E Street Radio and Elvis Radio.

Separately, Sirius XM is also launching a new series targeting accomplished women. "SiriusXM Leading Ladies” features candid conversations with successful women in various fields, including entertainment and politics.

The "SiriusXM Leading Ladies" series will begin with Mindy Kaling, actress and star/creator of “The Mindy Project.” She will be interviewed by Cosmopolitan's Editor in Chief Joanna Coles today.

Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer, SiriusXM, said the series “expands the scope and depth of our programming for women.”

Former Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) will be featured on the second installment of "SiriusXM Leading Ladies.” SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. host/veteran White House correspondent Julie Mason will discuss the state of politics and Snowe’s new book Fighting for Common Ground: How We Can Fix the Stalemate in Congress.

Sirius has 24.4 million subscribers.
