Leap Taps Omnicom's PHD, Element 79 Units

Leap Wireless International, a provider of wireless communications services, has hired PHD to handle media planning and buying and sister Omnicom unit Element 79 Partners to handle its advertising and brand strategy for its Cricket service. Billings were estimated at $5 million. The new campaign will focus on promoting Cricket's "unlimited" wireless services, including unlimited long distance and will appear via a mix of print, radio and television media, a spokesperson said. Leap also plans to launch several new products next year and is gearing up for a major boost in ad spending.
