Tetley Launch Uses British Lingo Quiz, Sweeps

  • October 18, 2013
To promote its launch of a Black & Green blend, Tetley Tea (USA) has launched a Facebook-based British lingo quiz and sweepstakes.

Fans can test their knowledge of the meaning of British words like "rabbiting" and "tickety-boo." Taking the quiz also enters them in the sweeps, which offers prizes of Black & Green Tea along with a mug.

The Black & Green blend combines the flavor of black tea and the benefits of green tea (without green tea's often bitter taste).

The brand also commissioned a "Simply Brilliant" survey in conjunction with the launch, which found that tea drinkers are more adventurous and open to trying new beverages, foods, styles of clothing, restaurants and hobbies. Also, 40% of tea drinkers (vs. 27% of non-tea drinkers) said that trying new things makes them happy.

The survey also probed Americans in general on their opinions about which technologies, beauty innovations, actors, actresses, musicians and athletes are most "brilliant."

Black & Green will be available at retailers nationwide, in a flip-top, 72-count box, for a suggested retail of $4.39.
