Havas and Interpublic could signed a deal to form a media buying joint venture in the coming weeks, reports Reuters, citing a story in, French daily newspaper
Les Echos. The agreement, which is
not expected to involve an exchange of equity between the two companies, would align Havas' MPG media unit with one or both of Interpublic's Initiative Media and Universal McCann units. Separately,
the French paper reported that influential Havas shareholder Vincent Bollore may be in talks to acquire a stake in Aegis Group, the parent of Carat.
