WPP's MEC Revamps UK Leadership

WPP’s MEC has installed new leadership for its UK operation. The shop has named Stuart Bowden and Jason Dormieux as joint CEOs of MEC UK. They’ll report to Tom George, Chairman MEC UK and Northern Europe.

The duo replaces Steve Hatch, who left for Facebook where he became the social network’s first regional director for UK and Ireland operations.

Previously Bowden had been Managing Director at the agency and was at Vizeum before joining MEC in 2011. Dormieux was previously COO and before that had been Managing Director of MEC Interaction.

George said of the promotions: “We want MEC to continue to grow and be the most successful agency here...One of our great strengths has been the stability of the management team and it has always been our desire to maintain continuity and promote where possible from within."

Separately, the shop said that Sarah Hennessy has been promoted to Managing Director and Paul Hutchison has been named Deputy Managing Director.

MEC UK clients include Lloyds Bank, McVities biscuits and Bacardi.
