Kelley Tapped As COO For Bloomberg Media

Veteran advertising agency executive Jacki Kelley has been named as chief operating officer of media for Bloomberg Media.

Kelley will run Bloomberg’s Web, mobile, television, digital video, radio, print magazines and live events businesses. She will report to Justin B. Smith, CEO of Bloomberg Media, who called her hire "a coup for our organization."

She stated that the "opportunity for Bloomberg to take advantage of all the change in the industry is immense," adding that Smith had laid out a "bold plan" to achieve the company's ambitions.

Previously, Kelley was chief executive officer of IPG Mediabrands North America and president of global clients, leading in IPG’s win for the Microsoft business.

Her sales side experience included senior media executives positions at Yahoo, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and USA Today.

At Yahoo, she was global head of strategy and solutions, where she oversaw the integration of the search and display sales teams into an enhanced sales force. She was executive vice president of media sales at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

While at USA Today, Kelley was senior vice president of advertising, overseeing advertising and marketing for all international and domestic editions of the newspaper.

Led by Smith, who came to the company as chief executive officer in July 13, Bloomberg says its strategy is to build a “series of digitally led, multiplatform new brands and broadening Bloomberg’s core audience beyond its traditional finance roots.”

In May, Bloomberg announced  Bloomberg Politics -- which will be led by two of the nation’s esteemed political journalists, Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.
