Target Faces Numerous Lawsuits From Credit Card Issuers in Aftermath of Data Breach

A federal judge has refused to dismiss litigation from credit card issuers against Target after 2013's massive data breach. The issue could set a precedent for other retailer. However there are some differences in the Target case. Judge Magnuson has stated that: "Although the third-party hackers' activities caused harm, Target played a key role in allowing the harm to occur."
