In a telling move that signals how embedded programmatic media sourcing has become for the overall advertising industry, Pubmatic CEO Rajeev Goel has been named to the board of directors of the Ad Council, Madison Avenue’s nonprofit for sourcing donated media time for public service advertising campaigns.

The Ad Council said Goel will be “charged with providing the organization guidance on creative strategy, media placement and outreach.”

Or to paraphrase a famous Ad Council campaign, an unsold ad impression is a terrible thing to waste.
