Havas Appoints Consumer Goods, Retail Consultant To Oversee Its Newly Formed Greater China Region

Havas Media Group has reorganized its Asia-Pacific operations with the formation of a separate Greater China cluster — which includes China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Christophe Cases has been appointed CEO of the new unit. Based in Shanghai, he will report to the Havas Media Global Executive Committee and to Dominique Delport, Havas Media Group’s global managing director.

The agency said the reorganization is part of the group’s strategy to increase the focus on priority markets by turning them into strategic business units with direct supervision from the global team. The remainder of the Asia-Pacific region will continue to be overseen by the current management helmed by Vishnu Mohan.

Cases will focus on accelerating the expansion of Havas Media Group’s services in the region and the adoption of the agency’s “Havas Village” model that houses creative, media, and other specialist services under one roof in locations where it operates.

Commenting on the appointment, Delport said: “Christophe has an incredible track record of success as a management consultant working with some of the top consulting companies around the world. He also has a deep understanding of the complex and exciting market in China… His ability to thrive during intense periods of growth and activity will be invaluable as we take our operations in China to the next level.”

Most recently, Cases was managing director with Accenture in Greater China, where he was leading the Accenture Strategy practice looking after Consumer Goods, Retail, and Pharmaceutical clients and focused in particular on digital, marketing analytics, and eCommerce. Prior to relocating to Shanghai, Cases had been working with Accenture since 2006 in the U.S., as leader in the Operations Strategy practice.

Previously, Cases worked for seven years with Capgemini (formerly Ernst & Young Management Consulting) in its Strategy and Transformation practice as leader of its Consumer Growth and Experience Management practice in North America.
