There once was an agency called Mother. And another called Modernista. Actually, there still is an agency called Mother but Modernista bit the bullet back in 2011. In each of those agencies' early
days neither was overly forthcoming about itself or its clients. The same could be said about San Francisco-based
West, an agency that seemingly prides itself on its
own privacy; so much so that there is no contact information, save for a link to a LinkedIn profile, on the agency's website.
That said, the agency recently added a new chief creative
officer, Jordon Crane. Crane joins West from Wolff Olins where he served as design and creative director for the agency's New York and San Francisco offices.
Back in September, TechCrunch
wrote about how much it hated West's home page dubbing it
"pretentious" and commenting on the utter lack of actual information a prospective client might want when considering a new agency.
When West launched, the site contained a few
minimalistic statements of the pompous variety. Now, the website contains nothing except imagery and the aforementioned LinkedIn profile link.
West was founded by former Apple exec
Allison Johnson in 2011 and backed by Twitter's Jack Dorsey.
