Dish TV: Subscribers Dip, Revs Rise

Dish Network had a steeper decline in terms of video subscribers during the second-quarter 2015 versus earlier periods. But the stock market didn’t seem to mind.

With Dish reporting second-quarter 2015, and net pay TV subscribers declining 81,000 subscribers -- versus a fall of 44,000 in the second quarter 2015 -- Dish is now at 13.93 million subscribers versus 14.05 million.

Mid-day stock price of Dish Network grew 3.3% to $67.56.

In the first quarter of this year, Dish had a net addition 35,000 subscribers; in the fourth quarter 2014, there was a lost of 63,000; and third quarter witnessed a 12,000 decline.

Better news came from average money those video subscribers now pay per month to Dish -- rising 4.5% to $87.91. Even better news had Dish’s net income rising sharply -- 52% to $324 million. Revenue grew 4% to $3.83 billion.
