MMA Adds Members To Board Of Directors

Among other new additions to its board of directors, the Mobile Marketing Association has brought in Pete Blackshaw, global head of digital marketing and social media at Nestle, Susan Canavari, chief brand officer at JP Morgan Chase, Sanjay Gupta, EVP of marketing, innovation and corporate relations at Allstate Insurance Company.

New MMA board members also include Peter McGuinness, chief marketing & brand officer at Chobani, and Andrew Sherrard, chief marketing officer at T-Mobile.

Effective immediately, the new board members are expected to serve two-year terms.

Re-elected board members include John Costello, president of global marketing and innovation at Dunkin' Brands, Tom Daly, group director of global connections at The Coca-Cola Company, and Amit Gupta, cofounder of InMobi,

Greg Stuart, CEO of the MMA, said the high caliber of its board spoke to the “indisputable power” of mobile in the broader marketing industry.

Re-elected board members include Jack Haber, VP of global advertising and digital at Colgate-Palmolive Company, Dipanshu Sharma, founder & CEO of xAd, Wanda Young, VP of media and digital marketing at Walmart.

Stephen McCarthy, CFO of xAd, has also been appointed as the MMA’s new treasurer.

The MMA is comprised of more than 800 member companies, including American Express, Facebook, Ford Motor Company, and Google.

Throughout North America, more than 60% of consumers now use the Internet via mobile, according to eMarketer. Meanwhile, in three short years, that share is expected to exceed 70%.

For the first time, mobile will overtake desktop ad spending this year, according to eMarketer. Stateside, mobile will account for 51.9% of total digital spending in 2015. Through 2019, while desktop’s share of ad dollars is expected to decline slowly, mobile's share will skyrocket.
