MDC, Salesforce Invest In Pierry Software

MDC Partners is adding a new affiliate to its investment portfolio. Pierry Software, a marketing software provider, is receiving a strategic investment from MDC Partners and Salesforce Ventures, part of CRM giant Salesforce.com. How big an investment and other terms  weren’t disclosed.

“As CMOs quickly outspend CIOs and marketing departments increasingly own the budget for consulting and design of marketing-related software, Pierry Software augments marketing departments by utilizing the latest technologies without the need for additional employees or investment in extensive training programs,” said Michael Bassik, president of digital operations, MDC Partners.

This investment will enable Pierry to grow its capabilities and consulting services to new clients globally. Since its founding in 2008, the company has expanded to more than 75 employees in offices across the United States and in Japan, and works with companies in all sectors. Pierry says its approach "leverages the Salesforce Marketing Cloud to integrate digital delivery, data, social media and e-commerce solutions to optimize marketing’s effectiveness and customer-centricity.”

This announcement follows Pierry’s disclosure earlier this week that it has acquired C.TRAC, an interactive marketing agency in the Midwest. Pierry claims that the acquisition makes it one of the largest full-service, global enterprise marketing consulting firms, with offices across the US and in Asia.  Susan Williamson, C.TRAC’s President, will join Pierry Software as the combined entities’ COO.

Pierry Software coined the term MaaS (Marketing as a Service) to describe what the firm asserts is the unique way it helps its clients design, develop and execute marketing software solutions.
