YouTube Red -- Google’s answer to services like Netflix and Hulu -- is reportedly struggling to achieve expected growth rates. As of last summer, the service had just 1.5 million paying
subscribers -- with another 1 million users signed up on a fee-free trial basis -- The Verge reports, citing sources. “Those numbers underscore just how difficult it is to convince millions of
people to pay for something they’ve had free access to for over a decade,” it notes.
