Publicis Retires Optimedia Brand To Create Global Identity For Blue 449

Optimedia I Blue 449 is simplifying its name to Blue 449 in order to create a consistent global identity. Led by global brand president Andras Vigh, the Publicis Groupe media agency currently employs over 1200 employees.

The agency was formed during a restructuring in spring 2015 with the name referencing the color wavelength between the purple-colored branding materials used for the previously acquired Walker Media and blue branding of ZenithOptimedia.

Now, with the rebranding of all six remaining Optimedia offices and Match Media in Australia, Blue 449 has a global presence across 14 core markets and 22 offices. Its global expansion will continue with eight more offices across Singapore, Taiwan, Mexico and Bulgaria by the end of 2017, increasing its footprint across EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

"By bringing together these two brands we are creating a unique agency, truly scaled with our 'Open Source' philosophy," says Vigh. "Our focus this year has been to create a consistent global footprint and an aligned name. Blue 449 will help us to drive our product and our clients' businesses, to live up to our mantra that we are always in beta and continue our innovation in creativity and data through media.”
