NBC Still Tops Among Prime-Time Viewers

With well over half of the TV season completed, NBC is in control, taking the top spot for national network prime-time viewing for the broadcast 2016-2017 year.

NBC is averaging a Nielsen 3.1 million 18-49 viewers with a 2.4 rating/9 share, season-to-date for the week ending February 12. This data is the live program-plus seven days of time-shifting measure, except for the most recent two-week period, which is live-plus-same day.

Fox has moved up dramatically as expected, due to its recent airing of the Super Bowl. Fox is now at 3.0 million 18-49 viewers, for a 2.3 rating/8 share.

Among 18-49 viewers, CBS is next at 2.52 million  (2.0/7), followed by ABC with 2.11 million (1.6/6); Univision and Telemundo each tied with 840,000 (0.7/2); and the CW at 800,000 (0.6/2).

During this period a year ago, season-to-date, CBS was on top with 18-49 viewers --partly due to the Super Bowl -- at 3.26 million (2.6/8) followed by NBC at 3.15 million (2.5/8); Fox, 2.7 million (2.1/7); ABC, 2.27 million (1.8/6); Univision, 1.0 million (0.8/3); The CW, 920,000 (0.7/2); and Telemundo, 750,000 (0.6/2).

So far this year, CBS remains on top in total viewers -- 10.2 million. Then comes NBC, 8.95 million; Fox, 7.29 million; ABC, 6.37 million; Univision, 1.87 million; the CW, 1.75 million; and Telemundo, 1.66 million.
