MIVA To Unveil E-Commerce Tools

Online marketing firm Miva, formerly FindWhat, is expected next week to release several new products for small businesses that want to start or maintain e-commerce pages on their Web sites.

In addition to an expansion of the Miva Merchant product line--a lower-cost version of Miva Merchant 5, for new businesses that are just starting to gain an online foothold--Miva will also release a host of products aimed at making it easier for businesses to create and maintain e-commerce sites. All new products will be unveiled at a conference Miva is hosting for small businesses next week in San Diego.

Miva Rainmaker is a keyword advertising management tool that will allow small businesses to access their accounts remotely to create keywords and ads, and to view reports. The product will be compatible with both Google and Yahoo!'s keyword management tools, as well as several other second-tier search engines, including Miva's own.

Skins allow users to edit the appearance of their e-commerce pages quickly; e-commerce merchants can create and save multiple skins for the page, switch between them at will, and preview pages before putting them up. The Merchant 5 plug-in for Dreamweaver will allow users to edit store layouts created with Miva Merchant, using Macromedia's popular Dreamweaver Web authoring tool. A Miva spokeswoman said the product will be compatible with the most recent release of Dreamweaver, which was released in August.
