Google To Sell Book Access

  • March 14, 2006
Search giant Google's Book Search engine, which allows users to search and preview the full text of scanned books, will soon begin selling online access to books. "The Google Books Partner Program is developing tools for publishers to experiment with new and innovative ways to increase book revenue. The first of these tools allows you to sell online access to your book," the company's Web site states. According to the FAQ for the upcoming service, U.S. and United Kingdom publishers will be able to set their own prices, and control how much of the book can be printed, as well as other options.
