Lawsuit Seeks To Derail Google Click Fraud Settlement

A search marketer filed a lawsuit seeking to block a proposed settlement of a class-action lawsuit against Google for click fraud. An Arkansas judge last month gave preliminary approval to a deal that would require Google to provide advertisers with up to $60 million in ad credits and up to $30 million to compensate the lawyers who represent advertisers in such claims. As outlined earlier this year, the agreement would allow any advertisers who believe they have paid for invalid clicks since 2002 to apply for partial reimbursement--about half a cent on the dollar, according to one of the lawyers who opposes the deal.
