Unions Approve New Commercial Production Contract

The boards of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists Saturday approved a two-year extension to their commercial production contracts with the advertising industry by an almost 95-percent margin. The agreement, which grants advertisers a one-year waiver allowing them to experiment with a shorter cycle of use in the new media and Internet areas, ensures there will be no disruptions from talent unions in the production of commercials for the foreseeable future.
